With the assistance of federal funds, the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Milford had the opportunity to contract out the replacement of their existing 4″ water main. The specifications for this project ere primarily focused on upon the installation of 14,706 linear feet of 12″ ductile iron water main with an additional 582 linear feet of 8″ and 6″ pipe. The scope of work incorporated the placing of 59 gate valves and boxes as well as 17 fire hydrants. The restoration process came about with the laying of over 11,000 square yards of pavement at various depths and repairing 5,830 square yards of lawns and fields. This job also allowed Leeward to showcase the diversity of its trades by calling in the blasting and boring crews when the circumstances necessitated it.
