Leeward Construction played a major role in the multi-phase reconstruction of Interstate 84, delivering critical upgrades across a heavily traveled stretch of highway. The project included 370,000 square yards of full-depth pavement replacement, 800,000 cubic yards of excavation, and the construction of four new bridge structures.
Crews placed 45,000 tons of PennDOT-approved Stone Matrix Asphalt produced by Leeward Asphalt, while also handling upgrades to exit ramps, highway lighting (both temporary and permanent), and the installation of new Type A, B, C, E, and F signage. This comprehensive overhaul has improved safety, durability, and long-term performance for thousands of daily drivers.
