Leeward Construction is hiring a Utility Foreman who is responsible for supervising and coordinating crews performing underground utility work on heavy highway and civil construction projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, company standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Supervise crews installing underground utilities including water, sewer and storm drainage.
Plan, schedule, and assign daily work activities to meet project deadlines.
Read an interpret blueprints, plans and utility drawings.
Coordinate with Superintendent, Project Manager, inspectors and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
Conduct daily safety meeting (toolbox talks) and enforce job safety.
Monitor production, quality, and progress to meet project schedules.
Operate or oversee operation of heavy equipment as needed.
Ensure proper trenching, shoring and excavation practices.
Track materials, equipment usage and labor hours.
Identify and resolve field issues quickly and efficiently.
Maintain clean and organized job sites.
Prior utility foreman experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of underground utility installation.
Strong leadership and crew management skills.
Knowledge of PA One Call (811) requirements and utility locating procedures
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in fast-paced, physically demanding environments.
Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
Time management and organizational skills.
Knowledge of excavation safety and trench protection systems.
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
